As a Warm Springs tribal member, he learned traditional teachings from his mother’s family and remains deeply engaged in ceremonies that continually balance his personal and professional life. Brutis’ creative focus extends beyond performance and production. He is actively involved in music and video production, announcing, and promotion—driving projects that bring roots, history, and contemporary expression to the forefront. His latest venture includes producing and archiving tribal history for the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, with a clear mission: to ensure every community member has access to their roots and heritage. Driven by a deep respect for his ancestors and a commitment to visibility for his people, Brutis continues to blend media, music, and cultural preservation in ways that empower and inspire hiscommunity. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/62269cb05baeb27be822719e/05b292e5-d68d-4246-b49f-fbc36515ded0/DURANO_headshot.jpeg RE:ception Erick Durano Erick Durano is a Portland-based filmmaker that specializes in short-documentaries, commercial work, and corporate videos. He runs EJD Visuals, a video production company serving various clients throughout Oregon including Travel Oregon, Adidas, Nike, and Intel. Erick completed the MESO and IDA programs in 2023 after leaving a career in social media management to pursue fulltime filmmaking, aiming to gain the tools and support needed to operate a sustainable business. The IDA program helped propel his business to new heights, by allowing him the funds required to buy new cameras, lenses, and software that enabled him to pursue larger projects, get hired for more operating roles, and improve the overall quality of his videos. Erick was born in Cebu, Philippines and immigrated to the United States at age 7. He attended Oregon State University where he was introduced to filmmaking by being part of the Orange Media Network. In 2018 he graduated with a Bachelor's in Digital Communications and worked as a Social Media Manager for different corporations until he started his business in 2023. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/62269cb05baeb27be822719e/70a380a9-0001-4786-9a39-cd22aefb30b7/mosley+wotta.png RE:ception - Jason McNeal Graham and Kenneth Adams Jason McNeal Graham, known as MOsley WOtta, is a Chicago-born, Oregon-based multidisciplinary artist working in poetry, performance, painting, film, and community organizing. His practice explores identity, belonging, racial equity, and human connection, with a focus on Black creative life in rural Oregon. In a recent portrait taken at the Central Library (photo by Kenneth Adams at Liberation Endured Productions), Graham is pictured surrounded by his own commissioned paintings—bold, layered works that blend text, color, and personal history. The image captures how his creative practice lives in public spaces and invites conversation. Graham is the creator and director of Sketch and Release, a touring multimedia docu-series and performance project centering Black creatives in rural Oregon. Co-directed and filmed by Kenneth Adams of Liberation Endured Productions, the project blends filmed interviews, poetry, storytelling, music, and guided conversation into a 60-minute experience designed for libraries, campuses, theaters, and community spaces. Touring from spring 2026 through spring 2027, Sketch and Release visits venues across Central and rural Oregon, featuring new documentary episodes, live performances, and locally tailored dialogues. Supported by major Oregon foundations, the project aims to build sustainable, equity-focused cultural infrastructure in rural regions while lifting up diverse Black perspectives and fostering connections across the state. Throughout my career, I have specialized in photojournalism, weddings, graduations, family portraits, children's photography, and community events, developing a documentary style that captures authentic emotions and meaningful moments. My passion is creating timeless images that tell genuine stories while providing every client with a comfortable, personalized, and memorable experience. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the support I have received over the past several months through IRCO’s IDA Program. When I began this journey, a year ago, in a new country, I had many ideas, dreams, and a strong desire to grow Eliora Studio, but I also had many questions about how to turn those ideas into a sustainable business with real opportunities for growth. IDA not only helped me strengthen my knowledge of business management, but also gave me the tools to create, structure, and strengthen a business plan with a clear vision for growth and scalability. As an immigrant and small business owner, I understand how challenging it can be to start over in a new country and learn how to navigate an entirely new environment.Thank you to IRCO and the IDA Program for believing in small business owners and for investing not only in our businesses, but also in our skills, our confidence, and our future. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/62269cb05baeb27be822719e/95dc45ee-baaf-4fb0-bf6d-6aa3d17181d3/LABS+Media+Logo.png RE:ception - Labs In the winter of 2021, Loyalty Hustler was eager to find safety and stability for herself and her two kids in a world that offered them very little of either. In the midst of the pandemic, Loyalty’s opportunity came when she happened upon a basic income pilot program offering $500 a month to 100 Black mothers – no strings attached. Like many of the other women who signed up, Loyalty began feeling the stress of survival mode ease up just enough to start thinking about building generational wealth and healing generational trauma. Then, in the spring of 2024, local politics brought the Multnomah Mothers Trust under conservative scrutiny and the program was dramatically shuttered, leaving Loyalty and her children in a familiar position of precarity. The idea of guaranteed income is not new. Martin Luther King Jr., the Black Panther Party, the Wages For Housework movement and others advocated throughout the 1960’s and 70’s for guaranteed income as an economic justice policy and an act of reparation. In recent years Universal Basic Income (UBI) has made a powerful re-appearance on the national stage, in part spurred by increasing wealth inequality and the fear of mass unemployment driven by AI. Our goals with this film are to document a successful guaranteed income program for the public record, inspire future UBI initiatives in Multnomah County and beyond, and to honor the mothers’ stories. We are currently fundraising to complete the film and can be reached at ibell@labspdx.org https://www.reconf.org/priorities daily 0.75 2022-03-08
